BIEAF 2021 제19회 부산국제환경예술제를 개회하게 되어 매우 의미있게 생각합니다. BIEAF는 환경문화연합 UEC의 브랜드로 국내외 작가들에게 매우 잘 알려져 있습니다. 창조, 조화, 사랑을 기본 정신으로 하는 환경문화연합UEC는 문화예술의 발전을 위하여 그간 노력해왔습니다. BIEAF는 그 정신을 이어나가는 등불입니다. 회화, 디자인, 공예, 사진 등 조형예술 전시를 통하여 시대적인 예술정신을 찾고 기업으로서의 예술 산업을 모색해왔습니다. 여러분과 더욱더 오랜 역사를 만들어 가겠습니다. 우리는 2020 BIEAF에 많은 노력을 다하였습니다. 2021년 '지구는 하나'에서 그 줄기를 이어가기 바랍니다.        

I think it is very meaningful to hold the 19th BIEAF 2021 Busan International Environmental Arts Festival. BIEAF is a brand of the Environmental Culture Union UEC and is very well known to domestic and foreign writers. The UEC, which is an environmental and cultural union based on creation, harmony, and love, has been working hard for the development of culture and art. BIEAF is the beacon that continues its spirit. Through exhibitions of sculptural arts such as painting, design, craft, and photography, I have sought the artistic spirit of the times and the art industry as a company. I will make a long history with you. We put a lot of effort into the 2020 BIEAF. Let's continue the stem in 2021's "Earth is One."

먼저 BIEAF-2021 부산국제환경예술제의 19번째 개최를 진심으로 축하드립니다.

 코로나 팬데믹으로 어려움이 많았을텐데도 불구하고, 환경과 문화예술을 융합하여 환경에 대한 관심과 인식을 높일 수 있는 지구촌 문화예술 행사를 성공적으로 개최하여 그린스마트도시를 지향하는 국제도시 부산의 위상을 제고해 주신 주최측에 깊은 감사를 드립니다. 

 올해는“오직 하나, 녹색 지구”라는 주제로 기후변화, 물, 미세먼지, 플라스틱 등 최근의 환경이슈와 연관되는 주제로 아시아 각국에서 현대미술, 그래픽, 산업디자인, 사진 등 예술을 통해 환경의 중요성 및 경각심을 일깨우는 작품을 한자리에서 감상할 수 있는 기회를 시민들에게 제공하는 뜻깊은 행사가 될 것으로 생각됩니다.

이번 행사로 환경과 예술이 함께 융성해지고 우리 부산이 국제도시로 위상을 드높일 수 있는 계기가 되기를 바랍니다.

  마지막으로 행사를 준비하시고 진행하여 주신 관계자분들과 수준 높은 작품을 출품하여 주신 각국의 예술인들께 감사드립니다.

First of all, congratulations on the 19th hosting of the BIEAF-2021 Busan International Environmental Arts Festival.

Despite the difficulties caused by the Corona Pandemic, I would like to express my deep gratitude to the organizers for successfully hosting global culture and arts events to raise interest and awareness of the environment by combining the environment and culture.

Under the theme of Only One, Green Earth, this year is expected to be a meaningful event to provide citizens with opportunities to enjoy works that awaken the importance and awareness of the environment through art such as contemporary art, graphics, industrial design, and photography in one place.

I hope this event will serve as an opportunity for the environment and art to flourish together and enhance our Busan's status as an international city.

Lastly, I would like to thank the officials who prepared and hosted the event and the artists from each country for submitting high-quality works.

조금 느리더라도 함께, 더불어 나아가는 길

올해로 열아홉 번째 자리를 마련하는 ‘2021 부산국제환경예술제’ 개막을 진심으로 축하드립니다. 
환경예술의 대축제를 알차게 준비해 주신 김현희 대표님을 비롯한 환경문화연합 모든 관계자 여러분께 감사와 격려의 말씀을 드립니다. 무엇보다 지속가능한 환경에 대한 남다른 열정으로 코로나19 위기에도 불구하고 부산국제환경예술제에 참여해 주신 국내외 작가 여러분께 감사와 환영의 말씀을 전합니다. 
부산국제환경예술제는 환경과 문화의 어울림을 통해 환경의 가치를 새롭게 인식시키고 시민적 공감대를 확산하기 위해 마련하는 문화예술운동입니다. 생태, 바이오, 어메니티, 녹색성장에 관한 환경 이슈를 예술로 표현하고자 하는 뜻을 실천하기 위해 오늘에 이르고 있습니다. 
올해는 ‘오직 하나, 녹색 지구’를 주제로 세계 각국 700여 명의 작가들이 참가했다고 합니다. 환경에 대한 전 지구적인 관심이 얼마나 대단한지 실감할 수 있는 큰 호응인 것 같습니다. 현대미술, 디자인, 영상애니메이션 등 출품작의 형식 또한 다양해 관람객들의 흥미를 충족시키기에 충분하다는 평갑니다. 언제나처럼 이번 전시 역시 글로벌 환경도시로 나아가고자 하는 부산의 위상을 높여줄 것으로 기대합니다. 
기술의 진보가 인류의 미래를 열어줄 수는 있을 것입니다. 그러나 환경의 가치를 훼손하고 문화와 더불어 살기 위한 노력을 멈춘다면 결국 인류 그 자체가 소멸할 수도 있습니다. 조금 느리게 가더라도 함께, 더불어 나아갈 수 있어야 합니다. 부산국제환경예술제가 바로 그 길을 찾는 과정이라고 생각합니다. 앞으로도 소중한 가치, 잘 지켜나가 주시고 각별히 부산시민과의 소통에 더욱 힘써 주시기 바랍니다.

Congratulations on the opening of the 2021 Busan International Environmental Arts Festival, which will mark its 19th anniversary this year.
I would like to express my gratitude and encouragement to CEO Kim Hyun-hee and all officials of the Environmental and Cultural Union for preparing the big festival of environmental arts. Above all, I would like to express my gratitude and welcome to domestic and foreign artists who participated in the Busan International Environmental Arts Festival despite the COVID-19 crisis with their extraordinary passion for a sustainable environment.
The Busan International Environmental Arts Festival is a cultural and artistic movement designed to newly recognize the value of the environment and spread civic consensus through harmony between the environment and culture. We are reaching today to practice our intention to express environmental issues related to ecology, bio, amenity, and green growth in art.
This year, more than 700 writers from around the world participated under the theme of Only Hana, Green Earth. It seems to be a great response to realize how great global interest in the environment is. The format of entries such as contemporary art, design, and video animation is also diverse, so it is evaluated that it is enough to satisfy the interest of visitors. As always, we expect this exhibition to enhance Busan's status as a global environmental city.
Advances in technology will open up the future of mankind. However, if the value of the environment is undermined and efforts to live with culture are stopped, humanity itself may eventually disappear. Even if it goes a little slow, it should be able to move forward together and together. I think the Busan International Environmental Arts Festival is the process of finding the way. Please continue to keep your precious values and make more efforts to communicate with Busan citizens.

Once again, I would like to express my gratitude and encouragement to everyone who worked hard to prepare for the Busan International Environmental Arts Festival.

강은 굽이굽이 흐르며 세상과 만납니다.
소용돌이치는 절벽, 밥 익는 내음 가득한 마을, 아이들 웃음소리 넘치는 개울을 지나서 흐르고 흘러 바다에 이릅니다.

세상이 발전하면 할수록 환경이란 단어는 더욱 중요해지기에 환경과 문화는 서로 대치되는 느낌의 단어로 느껴지지도 합니다.
따라서 『오직 하나, 녹색 지구』’란 슬로건은 이 시대를 살아가는 우리 모두의 여망이자 가치입니다. 

깨끗하고 보기 좋은 환경, 공해가 사라진 환경, 그 속에서 예술을 창조, 공유하며 즐길 수 있는 감동적 분위기가 바로 아름다운 환경문화일 것입니다.

오늘날 인류가 마주한 환경은 인공이 자연을 압도하고 있습니다. 그러한 환경 여기저기에서 인공의 압도가 낳은 병폐를 치유하려는 노력도 있습니다. 거슬러 자연으로 돌아갈 수는 없지만 우리를 황폐화시키고, 우리의 마음을 상하게 하는 문명은 피곤합니다. 이러한 상황을 극복하려는 환경문화연합의 도전에 존경의 마음을 전합니다.

The river meanders and meets the world.
It flows through swirling cliffs, a village full of the smell of rice, and a stream full of children's laughter to reach the sea.

As the world develops, the word environment becomes more important, so the environment and culture may feel contradictory.
Therefore, the slogan Only One, Green Earth is the hope and value of all of us living in this era.

A clean and good environment, an environment where pollution has disappeared, and a touching atmosphere where you can create, share, and enjoy art in it will be a beautiful environmental culture.

Today, the environment facing mankind is overwhelmed by artificiality. There are also efforts to heal the ills caused by artificial oppression all over the environment. We can't go back to nature, but civilizations that devastate us and hurt our hearts are tired. I express my respect for the challenge of the Environmental and Cultural Union to overcome this situation.
I sincerely congratulate the hosting of the BIAF2021 Busan International Environmental Arts Festival and thank you for the hard work of the Environmental and Cultural Union that hosted the event.

Like the theme of Only Hana Green Earth, I hope this event will be a place to promote Busan's hope all over the world and embrace the green color.

특히 매년 개최하는 부산국제환경예술제는 단순한 예술작품 전시회가 아니라 작품을 통해 환경의 중요성을 되새기고 환경보호에 대한 국민의 관심을 이끌어 내는 예술제로 어느덧 19회를 맞이하게 되었습니다.

First of all, congratulations on the hosting of the BIEAF2021 Busan International Environmental Arts Festival, and I would like to express my encouragement and gratitude to the "UEC" for your hard work in preparing for the art festival.

As you know well, the "UEC" is a watchman who protects the global environment and is taking the lead in creating a green environment by approaching the people more familiarly through environmental movements that combine environment, culture, and art.

In particular, the annual Busan International Environmental Arts Festival is not just an exhibition of artworks, but an art festival that reflects on the importance of the environment and draws public attention to environmental protection through works.

We hope that the exhibition and awards of outstanding works at this Environmental Arts Festival will serve as an opportunity to exchange art information and business information on the spot, and it will be a meaningful place for all citizens to have a more mature and developed environmental awareness.
