The BIEAF Steering Committee finally selected 10 world artists who participated in BIEAF2023 'Change To ECO', in which 225 people from 50 countries participated. In November 2023, 50 people were selected, and this time, 10 people were finally selected. This was a very difficult task. The 50 artists selected in November last year submitted new evaluation data and announced the evaluation method on their website.
Eight judges evaluated it for fair and honorable selection. They selected the artists by summing up evaluation items such as formability, creativity, data verification, and artistic activities based on the basic data of the artists' homepages, SNS activities, and explanations.
For objective evaluation, the evaluation of visitors was also summed up. The evaluation period was from January 1 to January 20, 2024. The final 10 artists were selected by summing up the evaluations of the judges and visitors.
The committee sends a congratulatory message to the 10 honored artists. The committee will support BIEAF2023 World Artists with online, video, and design for the 2024 exhibition. Thank you to the many artists who did their best and wish them all the best.

BIEAF운영위원회는 50개국가 225명이 참가한 BIEAF2023 'Change To ECO' 에 참여한 월드아티스트 10인을 최종적으로 선발하였습니다. 2023년 11월에 50명을 선발하였고, 이번에 최종적으로 10명을 선발한 것입니다. 이것은 매우 어려운 작업이었습니다. 지난해 11월에 선발된 50명의 아티스트는 새로운 평가자료를 제출하였고, 새롭게 홈페이지에 평가의 방법을 알려드렸습니다. 
공정하고 명예로운 선발을 위하여 8명의 심사위원이 평가를 하였습니다. 이들은 아티스트들의  홈페이지 작품과 SNS활동 그리고 작품설명 등을 기초자료로하여 조형성, 창의성, 자료검증, 예술활동 등의 평가 항목을 합산하여 선발하였습니다.
객관적인 평가를 위하여 관람객들의 평가도 합계하였습니다. 평가기간은 2024년 1월 1일부터 1월20일까지 였습니다. 심사위원과 관람객들의 평가를 합산하여 최종적인 10명의 아티스트를 선발하였습니다. 
위원회는 영광스런 10명의 아티스트에게 축하의 메시지를 보냅니다. 위원회는 BIEAF2023 월드아티스트에게 BIEAF2024년 전시를 온라인, 영상, 디자인으로 지원하게 됩니다. 최선을 다하신 여러 아티스트에게 감사드리며 행운이 가득하기를 기원합니다.

BIEAF2023 'Change To ECO' with people from all over the world selected 50 world artists. We tried to increase the quality of the event and increase the motivation for artists to create. It was a very difficult task to select 50 people from this exhibition, which involved 225 people from 50 countries. Eight judges evaluated for fair and honorable selection. They were selected by summing up evaluation items such as Artistry, Creativity, Submission data verification, Continuity of Art Activities based on the artists' website works, SNS activities, and descriptions of works. The evaluation period was from October 20 to November 10. Out of the 50 selected BIEAF 2023 World Artists, the final 10 will be selected in December 2023, and BIEAF will support their exhibition in 2024. Thank you to the many artists who did their best and wish you all the best.

Whether or not we are aware of the ecological consequences of all our actions today, we do not know exactly what impact they will have on future generations and living things. Mistakes made in the past disrupt the present of our world by causing climate change, leading to the extinction of animal species, and continue to negatively affect us and all living things. Today we need to worry about future generations and all living things and take action. Ecology is vital for all of us yesterday, today and tomorrow. We must not forget that we live together with all living things, and we must defend the right to life of future generations and living creatures.
I would like to thank all my artist friends who came together within the scope of BIEAF and contributed to raising awareness about ecology with their valuable works. I am grateful to the valuable jury members with whom I worked together in the selection process of the works. I would like to thank and congratulate my dear friend Yousang Lee, who worked for BIEAF, played an important role in the organization of this event and brought us together. It is an admirable work that the BIEAF Committee is sensitive to environmental issues that concern our present and future and attracts the public's attention to ecology through artistic activities. I would like to express my appreciation and gratitude to all the valuable members of the Busan Committee, which has been hosting such events for years, and to everyone who contributed to the formation, dissemination and maintenance of ecological awareness.

일반적으로 한국에서는 미술공모전이 과거에 비해 너무 많아지고 권위가 떨어졌다고는 하나, 올해 ‘Change to Eco’를 주제로 20회를 맞는 BIEAF는 2000년부터 출범하여 지구촌의 생태변화와 환경, 온난화 등의 이슈를 예술문화 운동으로 전환하려는 시도로 오랜 시간과 많은 이들의 노력으로 이뤄낸 국제적으로도 한국을 대표하는 국제공모전, 즉 월드아티스트 선발전으로 손색이 없다고 생각합니다. 특히 본 부산국제환경예술제 공모전은 환경과 예술, 국가와 언어, 경계를 넘어 50여 개국의 300여 명 작가가 참여하여 예술작품을 통해 우리의 현재를 조망하고 더 나은 미래를 위한 메시지를 전한다는 취지에서 본 공모전이 나아가야 할 방향성을 제시하고 새로운 창작의 의욕을 고취하는 중요한 역할을 일임한다는 차원에서 매우 신중하게 노력하였습니다. 
이번 제20회 BIEAF2023에서 영예의 50인 대표작가로 선정되신 아티스트 여러분께 축하를 전하며 지구촌 모두가 공생의 가치와 함께 생태환경에 대한 문제를 고민하고 발전시키는 예술운동의 중심이 되기를 기대해 봅니다. 해를 거듭할수록 더욱 수준 높고 성장하는 BIEAF를 위해, 또 환경문화예술발전을 위해 큰 노력을 기울이는 BIEAF 디렉터 이유상 박사님과 미술제 관계자분들의 수고에 감사의 인사를 드립니다. 다시 한번 50인 선정 대표작가께 축하와 응원의 박수를 전합니다. 감사합니다.
